Due to the recent closure of Baxter's North Cove, NC facility following Hurricane Helene and the subsequent flooding, there are significant supply challenges and potential shortages of peritoneal dialysis (PD) solutions. Baxter has issued immediate product management and conservation actions to address this situation, with a focus on ensuring patient safety and maintaining effective treatment for those currently undergoing peritoneal dialysis.
The Meetup: Navigating PD Fluid Post Hurricane Helene - was an open dialogue for peritoneal dialysis providers facilitated by the RHA Home Therapies Committee to support our community during this challenging time. This session provided a platform to discuss challenges and share solutions for managing home therapy amid these supply issues.
