UVA Health Dialysis Program

Michelle Monk is the clinical social work coordinator for the UVA Health Dialysis Program, has been a dialysis social worker for UVA Health for the past 10 years, and has a special interest in supporting complex mental health and behavioral health patient needs in the outpatient dialysis setting. Prior to dialysis, she worked in Northern Virginia doing advocacy, community planning and quality assurance work for the older adult and Medicare beneficiary population. Michelle enjoys mindfulness practice, meditation and being outside in nature and works to help patients discover these and other tools to cope with day-to-day challenges and enhance quality of life.

Becca Peters

Social Worker

UVA Health Dialysis Program

Becca Peters has been at the University of Virginia for almost 30 years and has been a UVA Health Dialysis Program dialysis social worker for 5 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in history and social anthropology from Purdue University and her Masters in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. One of her passions is building teams and collaborating with patient support systems to promote healthy, positive relationships. She is married and has 2 children. In her spare time, she loves travelling, reading, and listening to music.
