Helen Currier, MA, BSN, CENP, CNN

Helen Currier has over four decades of renal healthcare experience at a quaternary care pediatric and women ’s system. As a leader supporting professional collaborations, she has advanced renal research on national and local levels. She is a frequent presenter in national and international forums. Her publications include nine chapters on pediatric nephrology nursing. Currier is a pre-eminent nursing figure in national professional groups and is one of the past presidents of the Renal Healthcare Association. Helen’s varied nursing experiences have brought her to the realization that the arts in health are an important supplement to drug or technology-based treatment. Helen also believes in the benefits of exercise and has led transplant recipient participation in Transplant Games domestically and abroad since 2011. Helen has a long history of professional volunteerism with a goal of applying lessons learned, from evidence-based practice outcomes, to mold international standards and guidelines.

Margery (Peg) Garbin
President
Center for Nursing Education and Testing
Margery (Peg) Garbin is President of the Center for Nursing Education and Testing in Jersey City, NJ. She is responsible for the development and administration of all C-NET testing products and services, which include practice analysis surveys and certification examinations for specialty practice. Dr. Garbin is a former Senior Vice President for Testing at the National League for Nursing. She also served as Projects Coordinator for the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools where she was responsible for international test administration and psychometric evaluation. She earned her PhD from New York University and her BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship. She also served on the faculties of both universities and continues to teach test development and statistics to NYU graduate students. Dr. Garbin has done numerous workshops and presentations on surveying specialty practice, as well as certification.
